This is never gonna happen: April UFO Challenge

So I have this blog follower who always asks about the next month's challenge a few days early. And I'm happy to draw the number and announce it on the 52 Quilts Facebook page.

I remembered this morning that I had agreed to do this, and here is the project that is assigned to April:

All the print squares are cut, not a stitch is sewn. And just look at that applique' border! This one is clearly from my "30s reproduction fabrics" period.

Oh yeah. Ruth's Stitchery puts the date an item enters the store on the price sticker. March of 1999! This kit is 15 years old!

It will never be made, I'm sure. I should offer it up to someone who might actually sew it!

If that's you, comment on this post and I'll ship it off. If more than one person wants it, I'll let the Random Number Generator choose a "winner." (Notice I put "winner" in quote marks?) Comment before the April 1st UFO Parade and I'll announce it then.

The March UFO Finish photos are arriving -- how is your's coming along?

    1. Jennifer, sorry I have to reply on the post. I couldn't find an email address for you! I should have said "the first person to comment wins it," then I could just send it to you -- who knows, you may be the only person to want it!

  12. I've spent the month of March working on a T-shirt quilt for someone else. If I won this, it would have to sit, so don't enter me!! I think it is funny to have kits back to 1999....but in a few years, ask me if I still have some UFO's from Nov 2012 still in bins....Thinking ahead to my next project, but feeling guilty over all the unfinished ones!! :)

  30. I can see why you picked out this pattern. It is very lovely and I quite like the applique on it. This is what I call a down home country quilt. It just has that other century feel about it, but is timeless none the less. Sandy.cook at sasktel.net

  31. I just began following your blog today! I just love your kit and think it would be super cute all finished! I have been doing a UFO challenge through MSQC (and previously Judy Laquiadara's blog) for a few years and love it. So far this year, I've completed 5/12 projects. So excited I started working ahead I guess!

  32. I love that you are realistic that you won't make this! I look forward to seeing it finished in a future UFO parade. After watching my Mom fiddle with her appliqué project over the last few months, I am certain I would never finish it either. Best wishes to the lucky winner.
