Saturday Stash

Today is Small Business Saturday -- you know what that means!  Quilt shops count, and so do etsy shops.  One of my favorite etsy shops is owned by Randi in nearby Canon City (that's pronounced Can-yon for you non-Coloradoans).  And look what I scored this week:

A fat quarter bundle of "Outfoxed" by Lizzy House for Andover Fabrics.  I'm thinking this just screams "Baby Quilt," don't you?  I've ordered yardage of the large print for a border, and also some new fat quarter patterns.  Stay tuned.  Here is the link to Randi's shop -- Fresh Squeezed Fabrics.  She is having a big sale this weekend, and her service is lightning fast -- my order often arrives the next day!

It's Strip Club Friday!

Call it Black Friday, Buy-Nothing Day -- whatever you like.  But really, it's Strip Club Day at High Country Quilts!  Here is our project for this afternoon, a really easy, quick design using Kate Spain's "Flurry" fabrics.

WIP Wednesday

This might turn out the be WIP-the-rest-of-the-month!  It's a 2006 Moda University project called "Country Lanes" made from "Picket Fence" by Chloe's Closet.  It's a killer -- all those quarter-square triangles have to match the touching fabrics.  I'm half finished -- stay tuned for the complete top.

OK I give . . . .

Here's the link to EllynAnne's blog . . .  really, go there and see what National Tie One On Day is all about!

Tie One On!

It's National Tie One On Day -- an Apron of course!  Click over there on the "National Tie One On Day" icon and go to EllynAnne's site to learn all about it.  Here is a photo of the apron I made this year.

Post the First

The 49th quilt for 2011:  Butter Charm and Jelly, pattern by Legacy Patterns (www.makingalegacy.com).  The pattern calls for the same borders on the top and bottom as are on the sides, but since this is a lap quilt, I left them off.  I think it would make an excellent baby quilt -- it's fast, easy, and uses charm squares and a jelly roll.  I even did the quilting myself!  It will go in the mail tomorrow to make it to Idaho for my mother's 92nd (!) birthday next month.
