WIP Wednesday

Happy Rabbit Rabbit Day!  My childhood friend, Candi, taught me about Rabbit Rabbit Day when we were in elementary school.  On the first day of each month, jump over the foot of your bed when you wake up and shout "Rabbit Rabbit."  This guarantees good luck for the month.  Did you remember last month?  See?

I always thought this was simply a Thoman family tradition, until the characters in a novel I was reading also practiced it.  According to Wikipedia, the source for all truth on the internet, the Rabbit Day tradition might be traced back to the 1800s.  So next month, remember, "Rabbit Rabbit!"

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

Since it is also Wednesday, it is Work In Progress Wednesday.  Here is what I am working on:

As shown on my earlier post, the pattern has a pieced border.  I've decided since this will be a lap quilt, I'll put a simple green leaf-print border on it.  I have two more rows of "flower" blocks, then the sashing, border and -- how to quilt it?  I want to do this one myself, as I'm in a hurry to gift it to Amy's Mom!

Also, as it is the first of the month, it's time for  Lily's "Small Blog Meet."  Hello to all you other "small bloggers," and thanks for visiting!

  9. Wonderful quilt...but at my age if I jump over the end of my bed and holler Rabbit, Rabbit...I would need help to get to the ER...so I better just hope for good luck.
