I've resisted turning on the Word Verification feature since I launched this blog. But this week, I've received so many spam comments that I've decided to turn it on for a period, to see if that helps.
I apologize to those who legitimately comment. I hope I won't need to leave it on, or worse yet, go to comment verification.
I'm pretty sure my followers aren't buying G-ucci knock-off handbags!

So sorry you landed in this mess, too. I hope you can go back to sans WV, but don't hold your breath. I recently turned mine off to see what happened, and I got hundreds per day.

ReplyDeleteHad the same issue on my blog recently, and I also had to turn on word verification. That seemed to fix the problem, so hopefully it will take care of the issue.
ReplyDeleteI found that setting my blog to "registered people only" pretty much solved the problem, but you've probably thought of that already.
ReplyDeleteSuch is life in the blogger world. I noticed that Bonnie Hunter recently did the same thing. Toooo much garbage to slog through. Thankfully, my blog on WORDPRESS filters most of the span out....but my blog isn't quite the big hit that your is. I send people all the time to your blog for the Suzies Magic Binding tutorial. My ABSOLUTE favorite binding method.
