WIP Wednesday

Somehow I had the bright idea that the March Jelly Roll Party sample, designed by Kristy and Shayla Wolfe of "Sassafras Lane Designs" should be machine-quilted by Kristy.

Which would be fine, except in order for Kristy to quilt it and get it back to me, she needs the quilt  by Friday. This Friday!

I fell in love with this image of the quilt on their blog:

And decided I would make a batik version also.

There are 216 Flying Geese in this quilt, in case you're interested.

  1. Flying geese and HST...leads to crazy quilters! Great quilt, thanks for sharing!

  2. That will be gorgeous. You can do it!!!

  3. Holy, cow, that is stunning, and that you are attempting to take it on with such a short time span boggles my mind! What a beautiful pattern!!!

    1. 10 hours sewing yesterday, only 7 today -- ready for sashing and borders!

  4. Oh my now that is a lot of is going to be spectacular! Sandi

  5. Best of luck! That is a lot of work in only a few days!

  6. Needles to say I LOVE that quilt in those brights
And we all know how much you LOVE flying geese!!

  7. I am so excited that I get to quilt it! Your colors are beautiful!! Kristy

  8. 216 Flying Geese

    I feel faint :-D

    Gorgeous quilt tho :-)

  9. Lovely! I don't always go for black background, but it sure works here. You started Wednesday? Nothing like a due date to give a shove. If I were making 216 flying geese I'd end up with 432 "bonus" triangles to sew afterward and something to figure out to do with them....what method do you use?

  10. It's incredible, inimitable and gorgeous. You have a great eye for colors and I adore batiks. Good job.

  11. I hope you made it in time - that is gorgeous!!!
