Most of my readers know I live in Colorado Springs. You may not know there are three fires burning around our city, the closest in Black Forest. My "home" yarn shop, Table Rock Llamas, is 10.5 miles north of us and has likely burned.
At the last update, the fire has burned 8000 acres, which is 12.5 square miles. Here is a map showing my approximately location, and the yarn shop in the center of Black Forest:

Big time praying for you and your neighbors!
ReplyDeleteOh Marti...I'm in Utah and have been watching the fires on the News. I'm so sorry that so many homes and businesses have been lost. It reminds me of last year when there were entire neighborhoods taken by wild fires last year in Utah. So devastating. I'll be keeping you and yours, and all of Colorado Springs in my prayers for an end to all of this. Again, I am so very sorry...
ReplyDeletePraying for everyone effected by the fires. I have a dear friend in Falcon that also has been watching the fires closely. Be safe, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI only caught a little on the news last night, but what was shown looked massive. I remember driving through the area from Longmont to Colorado Springs and driving through the grounds at The Navigators' Glen Eyrie - so beautiful there. I will be praying.
ReplyDeleteBeen praying for you and waiting to hear how we quilters can help. My parents live in Parker, CO which is a little ways away so I've been watching a lot. Keep us posted!
ReplyDeletePraying for you xx
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for what your town is going through!
ReplyDeletePraying for all the people and their property that is affected and especially the firefighters working the fires!
ReplyDeletePraying
ReplyDeleteI'll be praying for you, and keeping Colorado Springs in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteAll thoughts with you. Sandi
ReplyDeletePraying too!
ReplyDeleteI'm keeping your area in my thoughts... I have a childhood friend there too who is giving me updates.
ReplyDeleteStay safe. It was bad enough last year and is a shame to have a repeat of it this year.
ReplyDeleteEvery summer here in Victoria, we live with the constant worry of bush fires, when we have hot North winds everyone is on alert. We have lost a lot of homes and lives to summer infernos that spread quickly through our state. At the moment we are having cold, wet days with some areas experiencing flooding, such is the country we live in. Please be safe, my thought are with you
ReplyDeleteMy friend is vacationing in that area and they had to evacuate where they had parked their motor home. The evacuation order was given when they were gone for a few hours but luckily they were allowed to go get their motor home and drive out of there. So much devastation. Definitely praying...
ReplyDeleteOh, Marti. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all those affected by this. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteComing from a country like Australia we know all about the devastation of bushfires. Got my fingers crossed for you and all those in your area. Hope the elements combine to bring it under control quickly. xxx
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to read about the fires. There always seems to be one disaster after another lately. Sending prayers for a quick end to the fires. Hugs.....
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with you Marti and everyone in the area. Stay safe
ReplyDeleteStay safe! You're actually the second blog in a row that said they were within a few miles of this fire. I hope they're able to bring it under control soon.
ReplyDeletePrayers for you and all others in this area. Having lived through the Okanagan Wildfire in 2003 (was evacuated - as fires came within a half kilometer of our home, meaning we knew folks that lost their homes), I know just how scary and devastating this is.
ReplyDeleteMay the rains come to help put a quick end to those fires.
Take care Aunt Marti!
OH that is sad and scary. WE have fires here in Australia every year too somewhere or other and it's always such a tense time.
