I am a total sucker for Blocks of the Month. "It's only one block per month," I tell myself. Then I wind up with 12 projects wherein the blocks are all finished, but not put together!
This is the 2010 Patchwork Party BOM. The fabric and design is by my fav, Marti Michell.
I'm using Eleanor Burns' "Road to Stardom" from "Still Stripping After 25 Years" for the layout.
As an aside -- the patterns in this book have resulted in multiple 4-H projects and at least three quilts by me. If you can't find it at your LQS, here is the link to Eleanor's site.
Here is a closeup of my favorite block:
Notice there are two missing setting triangles? I ran out of the background fabric! Lucky for me, the Fat Quarter Shop used the same fabric as a backing kit for one of their BOMs. I hope they really have it and it's not just a leftover item in their online shop! Kimberly, don't fail me now!
Here is the fabric for the two borders. I don't know if I really like the pink now (after all, it's four years old!) but I decided to go with what I have rather than try to find something else. Hear that, DH? I'm NOT buying more border fabric!
Linking up to WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced.
Keep your fingers crossed for me that the last bit of background fabric gets here before April 1st!
From the desk of your
Marti you quilt is turning out beautifully! I sure hope they have some of the background fabric left so you can finish this up! ;) Can't wait to see how this looks when it's all quilted! :
ReplyDeleteI am giving away a $25 gift certificate on my blog! Would love for you to stop by and enter!

I sure hope the Fat Quarters Shop comes through for you. Your project looks great...keep the pink for sure it brings out the pink in so many of your blocks. Anxious for the parade and knowing what project we'll be working on next. Enjoy your day, Sandi
ReplyDeleteI laughed at the title of the book, Marti! I don't know what that says about me - actually I probably do! LOL The quilt is looking great. I hope you get the fabric you need to finish it. :o)
ReplyDeleteI like it. It's very feminine. I have that book but have never made anything from it, I should hunt it down again.
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice pattern. Personally I'm not sure I'd even use a border myself, I quite like the pattern the way it is! Hope you get your fabric in time.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI loved that 2010 set so much! Very fun to see yours approaching the finish - hopefully, once the pink is one, you'll love it again. It's softness is perfect for the fabric set. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you get your fabric for the setting triangles!!! It does need a little bit of pink for a finish; and I like the plaid best.
ReplyDeleteI like the pink myself. Can't wait to see the finished product with your border and setting triangles. ;o)
